BlackBerry Curve? I mean BlackBerry 8300

By Dusan Belic on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 at 5:02 AM PST In Devices, RIM (Research in Motion), Rumors

BlackBerry 8300The right name of the mobile device is one of the components of the successful launch. RIM knows that, and now they seem to want to change the name of their BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) 8300 to BlackBerry Curve. Apparently, domain Blackberry8300.com redirected users to BlackberryCurve.com. When I tried it, I wasn’t getting anything…

Somehow renaming the phone in this stage (when everyone is already talking about it) doesn’t make much sense. On the other hand, RIM may want to get other, non-business oriented crowd to buy their handsets. Something, they’ve already succeeded with the Pearl. See, name helped there! (via: MobileWhack) :)

Renaming? I don’t think they’ve ever made an official announcement.
