The world’s leading handset maker is preparing to pick marketing agencies that will make the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) brand “the most loved and admired, iconic brand by people around the world.” In order to do so, Finish company is splitting its $300 million advertising budget in two – one account for creative and creative strategy and a second for network distribution.
Three ad agencies are pitching for each piece of the business. WPP Group’s JWT, Wieden & Kennedy and Mother, are gunning for the creative account, while Grey Worldwide, DDB Worldwide and Bates, along with JWT are hoping to get the network distribution side of the deal. Nokia will announce its decision by mid-year.
Hopefully this will end the campaigns with the annoying Moby soundtrack. (via: RCRnews)
