Former Nokia employee Markus Suomi is now Flander’s new CEO

By Stefan Constantinescu on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 at 1:24 AM PST In Financial/Corporate News

What has Flander done? I’m trying to locate their portfolio, but I’m failing at 01:20 in the morning.

He is leaving S60 apparently:

Mr Suomi’s association with Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s S60 product development and business operations, which he both launched and ran, totalled eight years. He was also on the management board of Nokia Technology Platforms, one of Nokia’s main units.

Does his last name literally translate to Finland?

Update: Suomi means lots of things!

Yes! Finland = Suomi in Finnish

Markus Suomi is pretty much the guy who we can thank for having S60 platform… Well, one of many of course, but he was the boss making things happen.

Really interesting to see that he’s going to Flander! It’s already a big, fast growing and successful company, but you better follow closely what they will be doing now :)
