Nokia E70 new firmware available; Reaches version 3

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has released what seems like the major version update for its ESeries’ E70 smartphone. Besides fixing the known bugs and issues and software updates, the firmware version 3.0633.09.04 will also bring better VoIP support. Change log is still unavailable, yet the jump in version number (previous firmware was version 2 point something) promises lot of changes. As usual, it is suggested to keep your device fresh with the latest firmware version — you can update your device via Nokia Software Updater service, or with the latest Nokia PC Suite which has the integrated firmware updater. I don’t know about you guys, but today (May 6,2007) I tried to update the firmware, but the updater said I have the latest version which is the 2 point something..!
Mine is E70 RM 10.
I’ve updated mine E70 R-10 3 days ago.
Update with no problem, to version 3.0633.09.04 or sth.
Haven’t dig into the phone menus etc yet, as I have no time for that, but works without any problems.
I updated my E70-RM-10 with the latest 3.0633.09.04 few weeks back. But now it seems that my battery doesn’t last even a day. Tried all tricks including Network to “GSM”, WLAN to “Never”, Display light to min. Does anyone have any ideas to improve the battery life?
The easiest solution might just be to flash the firmware back to the original, or previous version.
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the possibility, but as per Nokia, it is not possible to install the previous version from any current version of the firmware. Today morning I realized that the “Power Saver” mode was not functioning even though the settings were right. I removed the battery and restarted the same. Now the Power Saver mode is working. I hope this will improve the battery life. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

If you meant that you want to check the current firmware of you nokia, type *#0000#
