BQ Wireless has announced their BlueQ Bluetooth wristband that gives you a vibrating heads-up on incoming calls. It seems somewhat puzzling as to why someone would need a vibrating alert via their wristband, but BQ Wireless says the BlueQ is supposed to appeal to people who keep their cell phones in a backpack or purse, at a club or in a library. The most interesting feature of this wristband is not an LCD, or speaker, but the ability for user-customizable skins. A template is provided, along with special “Qskin” paper, for users to upload their favorite image and create a skin for their BueQ. We like the fact that BQ Wireless is bringing the power of skinning a device to the people. Expect to see these things at your favorite local retailer in the near future.
