A monk to launch an SMS fundraising campaign

MonkYou’ve probably familiar with various SMS fundraising campaigns. But which one of them was launched by a monk? Not a single one, as far as I know.

A monk in Bulgaria, former financial stock broker on Wall Street, is planning to launch an SMS fundraising campaign to renovate a Monastery. “Father Nikanor from the village of Giginzi is collecting money through text messages to save the monastery of Saints Kozma and Damyan, one of the oldest monasteries in the Pernik region near Sofia,” Standard Daily newspaper reported.
