Nokia should sell directly to Americans, skip the operators

Why not at least try to do it? Engadget’s Brian White is the realist who thinks such a revolutionary concept would not work out.
Me however, I’m all for it.

Something I ranted about back in February. It’s not difficult. Don’t forget about Dell, either.

Isn’t that what they’re already doing with the flagship stores? And the experience centers? Granted, it’s a small effort, but it’s still something?
It does seem that they are at least testing direct sales more systematically. Hope it is a success and helps drive higher end devices to the market, over time perhaps “educating” consumers that there is something better out there.
However, the volumes will still go through the carriers and volumes are important too.
+1 Canada too please!
