The US Department of Energy has made a breakthrough in battery technology at their Argonne National Laboratory. Lithium-ion batteries have recently made news for their lack of stability and capacity, but this new breakthrough promises more stable, longer-lasting, and cheaper batteries. A two-component, Manganese-based design helps to increase capacity to 250 mAh/g - doubling current Nickel and Cobalt based capacities.
We can’t wait to see this new tech hit our cell phones’ batteries!
