Verizon Wireless announced the launch of an interesting mobile application/service called Comic Creator by AMA, which allows users to create their own comic strips via mobile phones. The new service will give Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Get It Now customers a series of characters, settings and backgrounds from which to create comic stories. Once created, users can easily send the comic to their friends.
I still have to imagine how Comic Creator by AMA works. According to Verizon Wireless associate director of messaging content programming David Oberholzer “You have to try it to understand it, but this hot new application capitalizes on our customers’ desire to extend the communication capabilities of their phones and connect with friends and family in creative, alternate ways.” And in order to try it, you’ll have to pay additional $3.99 per month, that will include sending of up to 20 comics to handsets as well as an unlimited number of strips to e-mail recipients.
