SLIQ thin phone concept

And the concept of the day is SLIQ, designed by Mike Serafin. This baby is a dream device that sports the large “advanced touch interface,” which hopefully works much better than current touchscreens. Also noticeable is the device’s thickness (or that’s thinness) of just 10 mm, and the Samsung badge. We’re not sure whether Samsung sponsored this work, but they certainly could learn something from it.

Furthermore, this device sports a 2 MP camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens that looks like it retracts into the SLIQ’s slightly bulging top section. Retraction means optical zoom, at least where I stand.

Finally, the SLIQ features a crank that powers it up, meaning that it could work without a battery. That’s a theory at least.

Hopefully, Samsung – the company that knows how to make ultra-thin devices will surprise us soon with a similar handset. (via: Yanko Design)
