In order to sell the planned 10 million units in 2008, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) will push its flagship device through more than 2000 stores on launch — to make the iPhone within reach of most U.S. households.
Apple can count on its 160 outlets in the States and the network of 1840 AT&T (NYSE: T)’s wireless boutiques. Furthermore, the Cupertino-based company will also sell the iPhone in such locations like Best Buy, where it operates via store-within-store concept. At the moment, Apple has 50 such stores, and plans to expand that number to 200 to reach more customers.
The bottom line — U.S. citizens will be able to buy an iPhone from a wide number of locations. Now it’s just a matter of getting the 500 bucks… (via: AppleInsider)
