Clear Channel goes Mobile – Play lists, Traffic data, Song Requests All on Your Mobile Phone

Clear Channel radio stations to start integrating mobile services to listeners - traffic, play lists, chatClear Channel has announced their plans to integrate mobile services with their radio stations. The new mobile initiative aims to give radio listeners access to song requests, playlists, traffic data, and even chat with DJ’s on their mobile phones. Clear Channel’s Z100 in New York will be the first radio station to offer this new mobile service – for free, as opposed to the current premium service that allows texting between the radio station and listeners for $2.99 per month.

    Why don’t they also partner with mobile music vendors so that they can buy music after hearing it on the radio? That seems like the most logical thing to do if the are doing this as a revenue generating opportunity. I wonder if Clear Channel have any ties to any of the mobile music vendors.
