Palm has released a security update for Treo 650, 680, and 700p to close an obscure security hole in the Treo version of the Palm OS.

Palm TreoAccording to Palm, the problem was in the “Find” command, which users could execute even when the Palm OS password protection was turned on using the Make Emergency Call option. I don’t see this as much of a problem, especially for the individual users — the Find returns the results of the search WITHOUT displaying the record details.

Anyway, the update is released and it is suggested that you patch your device. After the update you won’t see Find command from the Make Emergency Call screen. (via: gadgetsonthego)
