Tech of Australia M500 Touchscreen Watch Phone now Available!
Posted by Will on Sunday, May 27th, 2007 at 4:07 pm under Accessories, Announcements, Devices, Technologies, Windows Mobile
A while ago, we brought you the M500 wristwatch phone from Tech of Australia. As expected, from the FCC filing, the watch phone rocks a tri quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) GSM radio, Bluetooth, MP3 and MP4 player (for audio as well as video playback), and a surprising 3 hour 20 minute talktime with 80 hours of standby! Another surprise is the 1.5 inch 120 x 160 pixel touchscreen, with a built-in stylus in the water-resistant body.
The watch is available now for about $820 ($1,000 AUS), but only 500 pieces will be made.

OK everyone… http://www.m500.org is up and running with a forum that is not closed (cough cough mymobilewatch).
It should help you keep up to date with this awesome product!
Please run through things, sign up for the BB, and let me know how things feel work. I’ve run many a server in the past and still do, but, strangely enough, I’ve never run a forum. So, this should be fun.
Feel free to start things off by adding what we’ve discussed if you so choose.
If you feel there should be a category in the forum, let me know. There is a contact page that goes to me on the site.
Ciao,

Anything that has to do with SMS Tech selling the mobile watch M300, M500 or anything else in the future is false as they charge your crdit card and never deliver on the goods. This company is stealing from everyone and you should know they’ll do the same to you.

Great idea. But I’ve seen a presentation on other kinds of wrist phones but it was a flip phone idea that has a screen inside the inner flip back side.
Thanks.

I got my M500 after waiting 11 months (they said delivery in 7 days) and guess what??? the watch falls apart! It’s a “PLASTIC” case and it keeps wanting to come off and the stylus never stays in the strap plus the speakerphone does not wotk plus the screen has major dead pixels!
Oh by the way, you can forget about support as no one replies to E-mails nor do they ever answer the phones.
Bottom line is that I got took for $1,000!!!

SMS TECHNOLOGY is a scam company run by couple of Scam artists. Do NOT buy any products from this company. Don’t waste your money or time. Mobile Watch M500 is a fake piss of crap. Has no functional use and does not deliver on %95 of the things they promise.
Completely useless peice of junk even if you do happen to have received it after 9 months.
This company closed their “virtual office” in Brisbane and have moved everything to China so they can not be sued. This company should be reported to ASIC and their australian registration cancelled.
TOTAL SCAM! WATCHOUT! - EDITORS PLEASE FOLLOW THIS UP AND GET SOME PEOPLE LOOKING INTO THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE RIPPING PPLE OFF!
December 9th, 2007 at 9:50 am
PS: The company releases fake news feeds.
Have a look at their “website” http://www.mymobilewatch.com
Go through their pruct images and their event images.
They setup fake “product launch events”. Pay people to showup and take photoes and video. These guys are total SCAM artists.
WATCHOUT AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CASH.
SMS TECHNOLOGY = SCAM COMPANY
M500 MOBILE WATCH = DODJY PROTOTYPE OF A BADLY DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED PHONE.

I ordered mine June 2007 and when I ordered it they stated that 7 days guarantee. Well long and behold I got it almost 8 months later I got it yesterday.
They pruduct is cheap and flimsy. The stylus doesn’t even stay in the holder, and the screen has about 18 dead spots wich makes it impossible to read anything plus the fact that the speakerphone nor the mic work.
So when anyone posts positive things about this company and its products and can’t say enough good things about them, it should raise a red flag.
I will try and get a refund from sms tech but this company has a history of not returning phone calls nor E-mails.
SMS Tech is a scam.
