E61i bug: Notification LED stops blinking when receiving a voice mail
By Stefan Constantinescu on Monday, May 28th, 2007 at 5:21 PM PST In Random
My E61i started ringing and I wasn’t in the mood to pick up so I let it go straight to voice mail.
After the phone stopped its 10 cm journey thanks to the all powerful vibrations my LED began flashing just like its supposed to, but after I got a voice mail message it stopped.
Bug?
I didn’t touch any buttons by the way, I just glanced at the device since it was on my desk.

A glance from *you* would be enough to make a phone lose its nerve.
Seriously though, that is definitely a bug and it happens when youre in a call and you receive a text message. I’ve replicated it successfully everytime I’ve tried it. Try it out yourself. Call your voice mail and send yourself a text or an email. You’ll get an error like this:

Definitely needs a firmware tweak.
It’s not really a voicemail or alert indicator of any kind. It’s actually an “everything’s okay” LED. It’ll flash if you DON’T have any messages, but if you see it stop flashing, you know your phone needs attention.
Just like the Simpsons.
Was that sarcasm Jonny? It is a notification LED. In the settings menu they even call it a notification LED.
Sarcasm to the MAXX.
at first i also notice this bug but later i realized the notification light will turn off whenever the screen turn back on from standby..meaning if you touch any key..which i think make sense and neat!
