Akustica AKU2103 high definition microphone brings high def recording to mobile phones and laptops - HD voice quality ensuesAkustica has introduced their AKU2103 digital microphone for High-Definition audio on mobile devices.

The AKU2103 is a digital-output microphone with a guaranteed wideband frequency response. It is the first digital microphone to guarantee compliance with the TIA-920 audio performance requirement for wideband transmission in applications such as Voiceover-Internet Protocol (VoIP)

The new microphone is impervious to Radio Frequency (RF) and eletromagnetic (EM) interference – allowing it to be used in close proximity to all those radiation-emitting components in your handset. Akustica says that their AKU2103 High-Def microphone is user-configurable as either a left or right microphone.

But, all that HD voice quality is useless without a broadband data connection. So, we’re likely to first see this new mic implemented in that slightly less mobile device – the laptop.
