CECT P168 – Another Apple iPhone Clone

With the launch of the real Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone drawing near, buzz around the hot new device is growing louder and louder. In the hopes of riding the iPhone’s media-wake, Chinese manufacturer CECT has released the P168 iPhone clone. The phone copies the iPhone’s wallpaper, startup images (Mac OS), and even the metal-framed 3.5 inch touchscreen. But the P168 sports a set of six hardkeys for simple navigation, a 1.3MP camera (despite CECT’s attempt to turn a 1.3MP camera into a 2MP unit with the use of a simple sticker), 6-speaker “3D” surround sounds, dual SIM, and media playback. For the uninitiated, this clone could easily pass for a genuine iPhone, but we know better. With a newly updated launch rumor, we’ll just wait it out for the real Apple iPhone!
UPDATE: For those of you interested in getting one of these phones, I found a good number of them on sale at eBay.

I buy from china the p168 phone with blutooth -double camera-touch screen…etc two months ago and suddenly stop working and it switch off by him self and switch on by himself and if I remove the SIM from the phone it works correctly and when I put the SIM in the phonr it doesn’t work.
How can I fix this problem and did u have any technical repair for these cellphones here in Egypt.

Does anyone know what operating system comes with this phone? Also can it use others, or will it sync up to a mac?
I have the phone, its as good as my SDA from t-mobile. It has many amentities that I enjoy, more than what my SDA had. I’ve compared it to an iphone and it has its bads and goods each has something a little better. The dual simcard capability is a plus. The only prolem that I have found is its very propriitory it won’t let you add other programs and I’m have a hard time finding its opereating system to see what if anything besides pics, music, video I can add. T-moblie new all about this excact model and walked me throught how to make it work with the internet.

I don’t speak chinese either, it comes in english version. It has some chinese on it but nothing that can’t be deleted. I have t-mobile and once I put in my sim card it worked perfectly. I have internet with t-mobile so I called them they walked me through the set up and I can go on-line with it too…. Some of its internet capabilities are limited by the browser it uses. I am trying to find ways to update and make these things better, its hard because the manufacturer isn’t realeasing the phone operating system. I have found out all kinds of downloads for wallpapaer and scrensaver but not able to add programs.
By watever you go and buy but dont by CECT product.. they seems nice bcoz they are clone but trust me they dotn worth a penny.. when u hav these babies in ur hand u will like it but after one month u will see so many prbs in them…

I’ve had mine for only a few weeks, so far (knock on wood) no problems. I’m hoping it last a lot longer than a month. For the price compared to something comprable its been an excellent phone…

no I know it won’t recoginize I-tunes. I have been trying to find out the operating system too. It seemd that not only did they clone the look, but it seems they wrote a whole new operating system that looks like apple but performs like windows, neither will work on the phone though I’ve tried them all. All I’ve found is you can download wallpaper at 240 x 320 size put it in your car and then change it over. To add screen saver its the same size but gifs, you can install and play music. The only problem I’ve had is adding any new apps. Can’t seem to find a compatible one.
One thing, this morning for no reason at all, it switched to chinese language, luckily I knew how to change it back, but everything was gone I had set up, not the stuff on the sd card, just the phone,. I had to reset everything, weird…

I have hasd my cect for 2 weeks, and the thing is ruinig itself! I paid a good 180$! The thing is a scam. Its reeeeellyyy hard to tell though. I was so happy and then things stopped working and code appeared and now its frozen with chinese writtten all frickin ovr it!

Dan check to see what frequency your network runs.. The iphone works on 850 1800 and 1900 as long as your network is on those frequencies it will work fine….
I just purchased my cect phone, and I joined to cingular. Does anyone know which selection to make the internet connect? It has soooo many settings since it’s unlocked. Any help would be appreciated!
Aaron, it only has wap capable internet and you should call cingular to have them help you set it up. When I got mine I called t-moblie and they walked me through hooking up to the net. Its only wap which you learn what that means over time.

i don’t think this will work on the internet i call up t-mobile they try and try to help me to set it up with internet but not working at all ppl so this cect and cect t02 have no internet the wap is not working the rest funtion seen find except internet if you don’t need internet then you can buy the phone if you need internet don’t even bother
oh also one more thing that i have to say is i bought cect p168 and t02 is yhe same nothing different
