Asus P526 Mercedes-Benz edition smartphone

Acer may have a Ferrari, but Asus has a Mercedes-Benz smartphone. Actually this is the same as the original P526 handset, just it comes with a leather Mercedes-Benz matching case and I guess the appropriate theme.

In terms of specs, the Asus P526 features 2.6″ QVGA touchscreen, Bluetooth, WiFi, built-in GPS, microSD expansion slot, and a 2 MP camera. Furthermore, it runs latest version of Windows Mobile, and has dimensions of 110×58x15.4 mm and weight of 115 g.

The way I see it, Asus P526 is appealing enough even without the Mercedes’ logo. However, by partnering with the German automaker, Asus may broaden its reach to non-smartphone users. This time I wouldn’t pay a premium for the logo. (via: jamp) :)

    Hi

I am in Australia and I hope you can advise please.

I recently received a new Nokia 6120 classic and the Mercedes Benz Bluetooth kit.

I’ve paired the two and the sound works perfectly.

The problem is that the factory COMMAND SYSTEM in the Mercedes will not display the phone CONTACTS.

Are you aware of any problems ir is there something I’ve done incorrect?

I hope you can help please.

    Many thanks.

I have the same problem, but also I have to press “accept remote sim” every time I enter the car, where as with the Nokia 6230 this was not necessary, so a pain.

    Appreciate any help

I have the same problem. Mercedes told me it was a problen with three so I phoned them. They didn’t know anything about it.

My old 6230 also worked fine.

    Guys,

thanks for the interest and feedback.

I’ve since tried a Nokia E51 and a couple other brands. Still the same problem, the contacts won’t display.

The Mercedes Smart phone isn’t available in Australia and even if it were, I feel after paying $150,000AUS on the car and then the $700 for the Mercedes Bluetooth kit it should work.

I must say, I’m very disappointed with Mercedes Benz over this.

Hi everyone I had the same probkem with my 6120 classic and what i found out is that you must use a mercedes-benz SAP module to show the contacts, the black HFP bluetooth module will not show contacts for the 6120 classic, E65, E51, nokia navigator and most of the N series. The Sap module will work perfectly with those phones listed above. I got all this info from a Mercedes-Benz dealer in sydney called Gbrothers, there is a guy in the service dep called Justin that seems to know everything about phones and what phones works with what, he emailed me a list that he has put together of different phones he has tried and what they work with.

  6. Rob says:

thanks for the info E55 crazy. I can’t find gbrothers in the white pages. Do yiou have any more info on them please?

I have teh Mercedes SAP and the E51 so I have my fingers crossed Justin will help.

    Have fun.
