MOTOCAST, a new mobile application for the phone’s “home screen” has been announced by Motorola (NYSE: MOT). The idea is to provide customers with a “zero-click” easy access to information, content and services of interest to them. The new solution continuously pushes content and services towards users through multiple channels. Initially, Motorola will make available Reuters news service, and its own channel featuring company news and promotions, device tips and one-click access to mobile content — with more channels to come in the months ahead.
Commenting on the announcement, Stephen Nolan, regional lead for Northern Europe at Motorola said: “With MOTOCAST, customers will be able to realise the full potential of their devices with no complexity; there is nothing to install, no feature hidden away, no WAP browser to find or numerous pages to click through – the service operates out of the box.” (via: unstrung)
