Willcom announced Sharp Advanced/W-ZERO3, the “X” smartphone

Remember the Willcom’s mysterious Windows Mobile 6.0 “X” phone? We now know it’s Sharp Advanced/W-ZERO3, and it was well worth the wait…

The W-ZERO3 is Communicator-like device boasting everything a business person needs to do his work while on the go. There’s a wide 3″ 480×800 screen that can render sites in their full size, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a camera, microSD expansion slot, WiFi and IrDA connectivity (no Bluetooth?). Furthermore, this device is powered by Marvell PXA270 CPU running at 520 MHz, has 256 MB of ROM and 128 MB SDRAM, and runs Windows Mobile 6 Classic Japanese edition. Considering the specs, weight of 157 g doesn’t seem much.

Unfortunately, this business baby is at the moment only available in Japan, but I guess we’ll see it soon hitting the Western hemisphere.
