Sprint is rolling out another hybrid CDMA/iDEN handset for use on both Sprint (NYSE: S)’s CDMA and Nextel’s iDEN networks. The Motorola (NYSE: MOT) ic902 sports EVDO data speeds, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, and MP3 player – a decent feature-set (but then again, Nextel phones have never had any cutting edges). At least you get a 128MB microSD card in the package.
The Motorola ic902 benefits from it’s iDEN compatibility with it’s Direct Talk and Direct Send functions, while the CDMA compatibility gives the hybrid phone access to Sprint’s awesome PowerVision services! We love the way this phone looks – even if it is somewhat big.
Expect to see this bulky hybrid sometime next month – for about $300 (after 2-year contract, of course).
