Orange goes green; Works on the wind-powered cellphone charger

Recently, Orange has showcased an early result of its cooperation with the University of Texas in form of a new kind of cellphone charger that relies on the wind energy. The new eco-charger is small enough, weighs only 150 g, and is thus ideal for those outdoor camping trips, picnics, barbecues, and other outdoor activities when you just lack the power plug to charge your phone.
As the wind spins the turbine on the charger, the newly generated power is stored to be used later at your convenience. The Orange wind cellphone charge is still in a prototype stage, and at this point it’s not sure when it will hit the market. My guess is somewhere in the spring 2008. Otherwise, who needs a wind charger during the winter days? Ok, maybe in Britain where it’s that cold then…
