Fring – VoIP service coming to Windows Mobile!

By Will Park on Tuesday, June 19th, 2007 at 6:45 PM PST In Applications, Rumors, Services

Fring is the hot new(ish) service that uses your mobile phone’s data connection to make free VoIP calls – and it’s coming to Windows Mobile! The service uses a 3G or WiFi connection to make mobile-to-mobile, mobile-to-landline, or mobile-to-PC calls and even supports Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Talk, MSN Messenger and Skype chat clients to keep tabs on your friends and family. Until now, Fring has only been available to S60 3rd Edition smartphones (and we’ve covered that already), but we just got word that the service will be released on Windows Mobile platforms (both 5.0 and 6.0 flavors) soon! This is really exciting, as there’s no good SIP-compatible VoIP application currently available for us Windows Mobile users.

Fring VoIP on your mobile phone is coming to Windows Mobile devices - both 5.0 and 6.0 versions
If you haven’t already, go download your Fring to you S60 3rd Edition phone now! Otherwise, keep checking the Fring blog for the WinMo release. Or, you know, just keep checking back here for the latest updates – seeing as how it’s, like, our job.
