Sony Ericsson K810i vs K850i

As you’re probably aware by now, Sony Ericsson K850i is the next stage in the Cybershot phones evolution. Next, you probably realized how hot I am for Sony Ericsson phones… :)

Sony Ericsson K850i

Instead of a 3.2 MP camera present in K800i/K810i models, the K850i packs some 5 megapixel love. The Xenon flash light is still on board, ensuring the best-in-class photos in the dark. However, the addition of accelometer, better camera sensor, more memory and the HSDPA radio HAVEN’T made the device thicker than its predecessor. Not only that the K850i is as thick as the K810i, it’s also few millimeters smaller — the K850i’s size of 102x48x17 mm compares well with the K810i’s dimensions of 106x48x17 mm.     So where’s the result?

    I thought, when the writer for this phone put down “vs” as for versus, means he would gave us the results, to see which ones better or worthed.

    I was about to get one K810i. I was actually about to buy that today, and I happen to check the internet and found out that K850i is on its way to release :neutral: :???: Greatttt… as for bad.

    When will K850i be release and how much it cost?

    It will be released somewhere in Q3 this year. Pricing is still unknown, but I would guess around 400 EUR before any subsidies. The K850i should be much better than the K810i, meaning new platform, more memory, faster CPU.

    dusband, 2 or 3 things, wat is q3, 2nd thing, btw k850i only has 40mb internal memory usually k810i has 46 not beta memory and thirdly, your finally right about the platform it is lush blad!! :razz:

    the k850i looks v good :mrgreen: , glad to see they have got rid of the bulky back. The battery used to run flat due to the camera opening in my pocket. k850i is the real upgrade from the k800i, the k810i is a facelift. be patient, and good things will come to those who wait

    It was not so much news only news i know about this is that Sony-Ericsson did make FAKE pictures to sale k850.
    SE take pictures from a digitalcamera and say it from k850.Not nice to get consumers that way,SE say they was sorry when experts see they was fake. :evil:

    The k850i is a better phone than the k810i but the buttons are extremely hard to text with and the touch screen is hard to get use to..
    the camera is amazing (5mp) but after 2 weeks, the shutter on my K850i doesnt always open when I turn the camera on… 5 other of my friends also have this problem – if it happens again..its going straight back.

    the phone has frezzed a couple of times, and does seem to lag out abit now and then.. (may be due to the fact im using a 4gb card inside it which is nearly full).
    design it gets 80%, usability 60% and reliability 40%… low score.. but hasnt lived to the expection i had!!!

    The K850i is already available in select markets, so I guess if you can afford it go for the K850i and get sexy 5 megapixel camera phone. ;)

    yeah.. is the K850i better or the K810? sigh i love the play/pause button on the top left corner of K810i! i have a walkman phone now and i listen to music really often. it seems that for music, the K810i is a better choice.

    i also heard that the pictures do not seem very different on both phones? maybe its due to a phone’s small screen so cant tell the details? on the com screen do the pictures really differ?

    Wellll… i’m afraid to say that Nokia does suk after all and S.E rocks!!! It’s just that S.E has just that lil bit more of an advantage in every way over Nokia.

    Yes, the buttons are a lil small and keypad in the middle, but hey… something different and unique to other phones plus you’ll get used to it very quickly.

    One thing I kinda dont like about the K850i is the flash is so far from the camera lens. Not a big deal but I like holding my phone upright instead of an angle when taking pics so its possible my finger could cover the flash. Overall its nice upgrade but pricey. I’ll continue sticking with my trusty K810i until those new 7mp optical zoom cybershot phones come out! :grin:

    I’ve got myself a K850i, it’s a nice design and looks great! But only downside is the camera, the quality of the 5MP is far worse than my 2mp W810i, so i think i might swap my K850i for the K810i. As for the small buttons, was very hard to me to text cos i have long nails too, the navagation keys are in the way of the buttons too to text.

    I am thinking of buying the K810i (cost 1600 DKK now, that’s like £150/$330). Which is also my budget!

    I have seen the K850i and it looks too plastic and the navigation key is a horrible design!

    Samsung U600 & U700 has captured my interest too though, especially the upgraded versions U600 EVO & U700 EVO.

    I like the design of the U700 the most, so it’s a battle between K810i & U700 EVO (Must be the EVO version).

    Let my hear your opinion of the 2 phones. Cons and pros.

    The U700 EVO looks a bit better and is slimmer and it’s SAR value is much lower (0,66). But I’m guessing the camera is not near as good as the K810i’s and the battery life time isn’t impressive either.

    The K810i camera is great, which is important to me when buying a new phone and it’s joystick and operating system seems great too (also the colours of the menu). But it’s SAR value is pretty high (1,31) and it aren’t slim.

    What do you think?
