Convert your Sony Ericsson K790a to a Sony Ericsson K810a

Do you love the way the Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) K810a looks but can’t deal with the (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio? Well, if you already have a Sony Ericsson K790a and have been pining over the upgraded look of the SE K810a, pine no more! A Howard Forums user has taken the plunge and actually “modded” (this might qualify as more than a “mod”) his SE K790a with a SE K810a body. The K790a lacks a front-facing video camera, so you’re going to have to deal with that empty hole on the front of the case, but you get the updated look and you get to keep your US-friendly (850/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio!
Or you can just get a full-fledged Sony Ericsson K810a and use it on T-mobile (NYSE: DT) USA – they’re nice and friendly with 900Mhz frequency (read: don’t use it).
