Sprint Announces Sanyo SCP-3200 Vision Phone – With Parental Control
By Will Park on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007 at 12:34 PM PST In Announcements, Devices, Services, Sprint
Sprint has released the Sanyo (OTCPK: SANYY) SCP-3200 as the Sprint (NYSE: S) PCS Vision Phone SCP-3200. That’s a long name, but we guess Sprint wanted to get across the phone’s Sprint Vision capabilities from the get go. But, the real interesting thing about this phone is its Parental Control feature – allowing parents to keep their kids on lock-down by controlling their wireless and web access. No more worrying that your snot-nosed kid will rack up hundreds of dollars in text messaging fees or wander into shady mobile web sites.
For about $50 (with 2-year sentence contract, $200 without) you get Bluetooth, Speakerphone, GPS capability (read: need to pay extra for GPS functions), and compatibility with the optional Sprint Family Locator service – in your choice of Black, Blue, or Pink. It’s pretty much a no frills device – basically marketed at families (read: children). And, the Parental Control feature is a must-have for moms and dads everywhere!
Press release after the link.
