Check this out – a mobile phone concept that mimics the motion of an ancient scroll. The idea of the designer, Yun Liang, is to roll this device out only when you need to check the text message or watch a video — otherwise keep it rolled up. Numeric keypad is all around the scroll to help you. Looks awesome and too futuristic, thus we won’t see it live within next couple of years… Check out one more image after the break.

    Interesting idea, but we’ve all gotten used to 3×3 keypads, so that one would be hard to get used to.

    On the other hand, I get the feeling most people just use their builtin address books nowadays. Which you’d have to unroll the scroll to use…
