UIQ TechnologyUIQ Technology had announced the availability of the final version of the SDK for UIQ 3.1, the platform version used in the forthcoming MOTORIZR Z8 — unfortunately Sony Ericsson P1i and W960i use version 3.0, and it’s probably one of the reasons they lack HSDPA support.

If you’re not much into UIQ, you should know that it’s the software platform that runs on top of Symbian OS and the one that supports touchscreens.

Anyway, the UIQ SDK contains all the binaries and tools developers need to build and deploy applications that will work on Sony Ericsson smartphones and the mentioned MOTORIZR Z8. The SDK is free, and you can see what’s new in the latest version from here.

I hope it has support of the front camera. In UIQ 3 SDK for SE phone it hasn’t.
