Neonode N2 getting prepped for launch!

Remember that Neonode N2 touchscreen phone that was supposed to compete with the iPhone? Well, with the iPhone already passing the half million unit mark, Neonode (NSDQ: NEON) had better get going! We’re hearing that the launch of the Neonode N2 is slated for this summer - possibly launching on July 15th 5th! The company’s global launch party, on July 5th, will be held in Athens, Greece - and bodes well for a July 15th 5th release date.
The Neonode N2 does the whole touchscreen thing - just like the iPhone. But, it doesn’t do multitouch (which is amazing!) or have any 3G, EDGE, or WiFi data connections. Still, for south-eastern Europeans, the N2 may be a good alternative to getting an iPhone.
Update - we meant the release date to be July 5th, not July 15th.
