SignalMap - user-rated cellular coverage

So far you’ve probably figured out that signal coverage map that carriers provide is full of BS. In most cases they don’t lie — it’s just that signal in some places exists but is everything but useful for taking undisrupted phone calls. That’s exactly the niche SignalMap is shooting on - to provide users with an exact coverage information.

SignalMap is relying on its community that post information about signal strength across the nation. At their site, you can search for signal and review it, or add information about your own signal. It works quite simple — all you have to do is enter the zip code and you’ll get signal information on a Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Map. Each coverage report shows what service user is using, along with 1-5 rating.
I find the concept quite appealing. Still, you may want to go for the old way and see where the carriers’ stations are located and where they overlap. In that sense, here are the links to some of the carriers’ coverage maps: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint.
