O2 iPhone spotted in the UK!
By Will Park on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 at 1:58 PM PST In Apple, Devices, O2, Rumors, iPhone
We’ve got another development in the “deal, or no deal” saga between O2 (NYSE: TEF) and Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) vying for the privelige to work with Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) in the exclusive iPhone distribution deal for the UK. Apparently, TUAW got reports of some Brit tipster giving them the down-low on having spotted an iPhone, on the O2 network, out in the UK wild. It may be more appropriate to classify this report as a rumor, as the sighting cannot be confirmed - and TUAW’s “birdie” is not a legit source.
As it stands right now, we are leaning towards O2 clinching the UK contract. But, with the official O2 denial of a deal, we just can’t be sure.
Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated - as always.

Oh man! I was really hoping to a 3G iPhone on Voda!!! Grrr!
Why has nobody thought logically on this…
I just had a customer in my shop…..with an iPhone…….
He was from San Francisco…..
Just seeing it means jack….though for what its worth…when an american iPhone is roaming in the UK, it locks to O2…..interesting!
Maybe because it’s more fun to think that O2 will be getting the iPhone soon?
All kidding aside, that’s a damn good point you make, Tim.
