Burger King in the Philippines provides free mobile phone charging!

Would you like a free handset charge with that order? Of course you would! Too bad you’d have to hoof it all the way to the Philippines for a taste of that free-phone-charging goodness. With mobile phones penetrating every aspect of our daily lives, it makes sense for the fast-food restaurant to provide patrons with a free juice-up with their combo-meal.
We love the slogan – Lo Bat, No Bat, Any Kind Of Bat. How great is that? It kind of reminds us of the ubiquitous used-car dealership motto – No Credit, Bad Credit, No Problem.
It’s interesting to see that 3 out of the 6 mobile phone charging options are Nokia (NYSE: NOK) phones – apparently they have different power cords to accomodate different handsets’ power plugs. The fact that Nokia is so prevalent on Burger King’s charging station is testament to Nokia’s market-share outside the US. Still, wouldn’t it be nice if one day all mobile phones used a universal charging port (miniUSB perhaps)?

Forget the ketchup, pass the power cord!

free chargers like those are quite common here in estonia.
since i live in manila, i can say that im really enjoying free mobile phone charging outlets nowadays
imagine, each time i ran out of power i just have to look for an outlet to recharge and continue my txtng/calling right away
(luckily nokia cooperated with one of the major mobile networks here in manila and they have branches nationwide). yes, not only burger king offers that kind of stuff here in the Philippines
Free chargers are common even in india. Most of the airports have them. Quite a few coffe shops and shopping malls have free chargers. But then again its very similar to the one pictured above (only moto, nok, se and samung). So if you are carrying the latest Sagem or Fly handset (some ppl do buy those
) then better carry you own charger and look for plug points (you can find quite a few of those too).

I wish free charging stations like that were common in the US.

Awesome idea!
I love BK.s free massage, the worst thing only is some branches do not know that they are tied up with NLEX’s easytrip giving 20% discount upon presenting Easytrip card ( 200 pesos above purchase ) yung ibang Branch di hino-honor e lahat BK sakop ng promo na ito, kakahiya nakikipagtalo pa kami sa discount, dapat siguro mag seminar sila pareho at mag coordinate para di mapapahiya both customers and managers ng BK.
i hate BK. may mga gantong premiums sila for the customers but they don’t have means on ensuring that the customers together with their stuffs are well protected. ung laptop ng friend ko nasa tabi nya lang, sa may paanan nya, nawala pa. tinangay. right away, hinabol nya. sinigaw nya pa nga na somebody got her laptop, pero ni walang staff na sumunod. bakit walang security ang BK sa Trinoma, eh ganyang may mga inooffer sila. one should think twice in staying there, lalo, that wasn’t the first time na may nasalisihan don. the thing was not even unattended tapos ganun. nahuli sana yun had there been enough security measures they have deployed within the premises. it’s shitty.
