Nemertes ResearchYes, we ARE passionate about mobile gadgets and the overall mobile industry. Furthermore, we love listening to the stories of organizations and individuals improving their life thanks to the new mobile lifestyle — after all, our very own Stefan now works from Finland, the place he always wanted to visit.

So, it shouldn’t be surprising to you how the following numbers from a just-published Nemertes Research benchmark “Building the Successful Virtual Workplace” sound sweet to our ears:

  • Enterprises are poised to expand their wireless investments considerably over the next 12 to 18 months
  • The average growth rate of organizations (both large and small) looking to increase the number of devices they use over the next 12 months is 421%
  • 75% of benchmark participants say they’re interested, or somewhat interested, in multimode products — devices that handle both WiFi and various flavors of wireless-WAN services
  • Organizations with revenues of more than $1B report spending a median of $5,000 per year per mobile-enabled user

See? We’re all be living in a mobile world pretty soon! :)

Dusan Belic

Dusan has been using smartphones since their introduction and is now following the latest trends in the industry. The "convergence" is what he's most excited about, and writing about it is the next logical thing to do. He thinks that using a smartphone is what everyone who cares about their time should do. In addition to his interests in mobile phones, Dusan also loves to experiment with the latest web and mobile 2.0 services. The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application. Dusan used to run SymbianWatch.com which later became part of IntoMobile. He lives in Serbia, South-East Europe, from where he edits the site on a daily basis.
