New version of V CAST Music Manager released

By Dusan Belic on Friday, July 13th, 2007 at 2:06 AM PST In Applications, Content, Services, Verizon

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless released the new version of their desktop application Music Manager, which accompanies the carrier’s V CAST Music service. Beside improved interface that is now made of four tabs – “V CAST Buy Music”, “Music on My PC”, “Music on My Phone”, and “Music on My CD” – the new version also provides users with additional features such as an ability to import unprotected .aac files and automatically convert them to .wma files during sync (if required), import playlists from Windows Media Player, sort music by songs or albums, easily manage duplicate song files, and print “Show Me How” screens. But that’s not all – Verizon emphasizes the overall increase in usability, resulting in fewer number of steps required to rip, burn and sync music.

V CAST Music Manager

Verizon Wireless’ new Music Manager works with Windows XP and Vista PCs and all V CAST Music-enabled phones (except the Verizon Wireless CDM 8945 which is only compatible with Windows XP). By the end of July, customers using the previous version of V CAST Music software will automatically receive an upgrade notification to the new, improved version; customers may select to manually update the software as well.

I wonder what happened with the Mac support? Or Mac users use iTunes exclusively and don’t like carriers’ solutions?

you can buy a connector so that u can put ur memory card in a usb and just transfer music onto that and then plug the memory card into ur phone. You can use a mac. It is only 10 dollars like at walmart or somethin.

Does the VCast manager let you download to the Chocolate phone card the Playlist names created in VCast? I hoped that it would but does not seem to be able to do so. All it does is download all my playlist songs into a general list and does not associate the music on the phone with the playlist I had established in VCast on my PC!!!
