Iran: we’re not using “Western” words like SMS, they threaten our existence

America, at the same time a bastion of democratic power and lure for global animosity, has done it again. With the Yankee hammer looming over head of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is trying to rid the country of any US influence. “Western” words (or, really, acronyms) like SMS are being banned by the Iranian government. The country’s linguistic watchdog , Farhangestan, has coined the Farsi term “payamak” – “little message. The word is rooted in the Farsi term for “message” – payam. Since the revolution in 1978, Western language words have been increasingly used in Iran, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad isn’t having any more of it. He has banned western words and has ordered all government agencies to use the new term coined by Farhangestan.

Iran hates US

Way to show America and it’s infidel allies, Mahmoud. We’re sure that little move of yours is going to get “W” thinking more about his foreign policy.
