  19. Terrie says:

My daughter just got this phone, loves it except for one thing. Bluetooth!! Her friends have bluetooth on their phones but don’t seem to be able to send her anything. We have bluetooth on the laptop at home and though they can find each other they can’t seem to send anything to each other. I am the first to say that I have no clue. Where does one find out how to run this. The manual doesn’t say much other than they have to see each other. It doesn’t even cover the security code issue, though it was simple to Google. Bluetooth please anyone???

  25. Dylan says:

I bought the 2 gb micro sd card and the adapter. i put a good 150 songs on it and then put it in my hue. then as i was going through the songs it randomly shut-off. No problem since it happens all the time. but then it may become a problem when IT WON’T TURN BACK ON!!! I tried taking out the sd card. no. i tried taking out and re-inserting the battery. no. Then i tried my friend’s hue’s battery. no. Then i tried his sd card. no. all the songs work fine on his phone. and because im so cheap i didn’t care to pay the $5 a month for insurance.

  26. tommy boy says:

You need to format the Micro SD with the phone before adding music, it needs to have a folder for pics, one for movies, and another for videos. My phone does the power off thing too, ALOT, especially with certain songs. I also can’t make my phone work with certain other phones, like a Motorola KRZR to send me a picture or song.

  27. explorer says:

my phone says that it does not support ringtones what does this mean?and how do you use bluetooth

  28. where is the alltelhelprboii with answers to the bluetooth problems? he posted three messages over a time period of six minutes on march 1st (90+ days ago) and hasn’t been around since.

hey alltelhelprboii: where the hell are you and why haven’t you answered any of these questions about the POS bluetooth device on this phone?!?

  29. t0lst0y says:

Have a Hue, just bought an SD card. I can upload music onto it and have the Hue play music. However, when I try to transfer photos from the Hue memory to the SD memory, it says the SD card has no space. Can’t take pictures and save them straight to the SD card either. Any suggestions?

  30. Tizzo says:

YOu must format the micro SD card using the phone itself, not your computer. There is a “format card” selection under settings on the phone. use that to format the card first. The Hue will make a folder for “videos”, “pictures”, and “music” on the memory card .It needs to do this so the phone is able to read the micro SD card. Then proceed to remove the Micro SD card from the phone, put it in the SD adapter and then into your computer. From there, download any “photo”, “video” or “music” files from your computer to the Micro SD card. Then insert it into your phone. From there go to “Multimedia” on your Hue’s menu, select music, videos or pictures and from there press the right soft key or options button to access options for applying music on the card to ringtones etc… As for bluetooth, You obviously need a bluetooth device to connect to(HA-HA). Next go to “tools” on your Hue’s menu and select bluetooth. From there, turn on the bluetooth on your Hue (there is a prompt to do so and turn on your other bluetooth device. On the bluetooth settings option on the Hue, select “discovery mode” and turn to “on”. This will allow all bluetooth devices in the vicinity to “see” your Hue and for your Hue to see it. From there it is pretty much all automatic. You can follow the same procedure to send info from one Hue to another Hue or to any other bluetooth phone. I have a bluetooth stereo system/video player in my car and I can send all my music, photos and videos from my Hue to my radio and in stereo sound to all 4 speakers. The key is both bluetooth devices have to have the same pairing code. If the pairing code for your bluetooth headset is “1234″, then when the Hue asks you for the pairing code put in “1234″. Same is true for anybody elses phone. You’ll need to ask them for there “pairing code” before you can tranfer anything.
    Any other questions?

  31. Terrie says:

    Hey Tizzo

I don’t have the same options that you have apparently. When I go to multimedia, music player, I find my music saved on the SD, but my options are only “mark all”, “remove”, “properties” and “player settings”, none of which allow me to move that little piece of music anywhere near a ringtone file. Any ideas how to get that little piece of music to a ringtone. I have tried mp3, MID and audacity file….. bitpim can’t find it either.

  32. Heidi says:

yea mine is the same way i have the music on the card but i cant set it as a ringtone help!!!

  33. Andie says:

WTH?! I love this phone…but geez! I went to myxertones.com to try to get some free ringtones, as I had quite a few on my old phone. It keeps saying that my phone doesn’t support ringtones. I just want something personal!!!

  34. John says:

The bluetooth is awfull on this phone cannot transfer pics to computer.Because alltel disabled the option to transfer via bluetooth.jee thx alltel. another 30 dollars wasted on bluetooth dongle.before i figured that out,yes u can get them to pair,But pc sees no flders on phone worthless.Back to my old nokia.

  35. THERUDE says:

Yea, what the heck. I’ve decided you are not allowed to set an mp3 to a ringtone.

    Which is GAY

  36. Woody7 says:

How can you set mp3’s as a ringtone? Someone must know how to get around alltels stupid blocks.

  37. Terrie says:

Seems to me Alltel intentionally misled the public by stating this phone has bluetooth capabilities, when it has been crippled for what the majority of the public would like to use it for, such as ringtones, transferring files. Seem to me that is illegal, called misrepresentation. I would love to see a class action. After all, when I buy a car with a radio, I assume it works. When I buy a steak at the store, I assume it is beef. When I buy a hamburger at McD’s, I assume it has a bun. Guess that is what I get for assuming bluetooth works (Ass u me). We know how the saying goes. It will be the last phone I buy from Alltel simply because they misrepresented what they are selling as being fully functional when it was crippled. I hear mine whimpering now, maybe I should just shoot it and be done.

  38. Raidium says:

Well then, I guess it is a good thing that Alltel won’t be a problem for much longer, huh? It’s reasons like that which put the carrier in such a state of debt in the first place. I’m still not a fan of Verizon Wireless but then again… I am a Sprint Customer. lol.

  39. Kev says:

Just got my Hue…Yay and Ney!
Bluetooth services available are “send cards and connect to serial port”…PERIOD.
No SD card yet but not expecting much there once I have one judging by all the hassles everyone has.
Been extremely disappointed with Alltel and have had it up to my neck with them.
Die a quick and uneventful death ALLTEL and let us forget your incompetence’s and mass rip-offs

I’d like to know if it’s possible to block my number on outgoing calls? IF so How

  41. SuperStuff says:

I downloaded the Alltel Music Connect software from Alltel, got me cheap USB cable off eBay, formatted the microSD card in the phone, and got ready to download my tunes to the phone. I was able to scan all my mp3 files into Alltel Music Connect and select them for transfer to the Hue. My problem is when I go into Multimedia/Music Player/Library it doesn’t list the artist and albums correctly. Why have lists for Artists & Albums if your not going to be able to read that information from the mp3 files.

  42. SuperStuff says:

Found a solution for Artists & Albums on my Alltel Hue. The Alltel tech support were clueless on how to get this to work, but I eventually figured it out. In iTunes I needed to select all my music and select convert ID3 tags to version 2.3 and it would transfer over with the correct titles.

My next problem is to figure out how to get the album art to display and lyrics. It’s quite possible that if I had converted to a different version of ID3 tags I can probably get album covers & lyrics. I’ll have to try a different program for lyrics because iTunes doesn’t do that as far as I can tell.

When this phone came out, i wanted it but i knew i would never get it. when my parents bought a cell, this was the one they chose for me! i was exstatic! my phone is now pink, but i have the green plate too.

  45. MariMump says:

    To: ncbeachlady

To block your number on an outgoing call,
    dial star-67 before the number:
*67 and the number (Example: *675015551212)
    and then press “send”.

It will display as “private call” on the other person’s phone.

  46. Hey. I’m having trouble with my Hue’s Music Player. Most of the songs are named weird things like yp( and yp=.
Additionally, there are only 4 options on the songs: Mark All, Remove, Properties, and Player Settings.
I cannot set the songs as ringtones, which annoys me. Also, what files can the music player use? can it use midis? I have a 2gb microSD, so thats not a problem.
Aditionally, i cannot update the software.
Finally, can you put song files (specifically midis) on to the phone itself, or any other file for that fact? i tried bluetooth, but it’s gay.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

  47. britt says:

i have too many problems with this phone! I shuts off randomly. bluetooth does not let me send things or recieve things from other people. i bought a memory card for my phone and transfered music to it and now when i try to play the songs, there is nothing there. and they are even mp3 files! like wtf?

  48. beca says:

My daughter and I both have this phone and both of us have issues with writing to the micro sd card. When we take pictures and write to card 2 out of 5 pics will store successfully. the other 3 will lock up the phone completely requiring a reboot. song files do not play loud enough to hear, even with the volume maxed. I am also disappointed with the bluetooth and hope someone can come up with a hack code to remove the alltel restrictions. My phone has randomply just shut off in the middle of calls. I should have picked another phone. My old razr v3c was easier to work with. I regret getting into a new 2 year contract with this phone. It wasnt worth it.

  49. beca says:

On a good note… I found a work around for getting my mp3 sogs to play as a ringtone. I bluetooth into my old razr that I gave to my son and move the songs to his phone. they need to be 30 seconds so it took some editing on my part. Once I moved the songs to his phone via blue tooth, he sent us a text with the song attatched. You can also have other people send you short song files in a text and it will allow you to use it as a ring tone.. has to be under 30 seconds though.

  50. SuperStuff says:

Make sure you format your microSD card in the Hue phone for it to work properly for storing files. I think if you make the songs midi files they will play on the phone.

I think my house is on the edge of tower coverage causing the external display to cycle on alot at home. This causes the battery to discharge faster than you would expect.
