Nokia N95 Firmware 12.0.013 Changelog leaked

It pains me to have to say “changelog leaked.”
Why can’t Nokia (NYSE: NOK) just be honest and admit that they shipped a phone that wasn’t perfect from the start, but they’re trying very hard to correct that. Nokia is one of the few companies who even do firmware upgrades! If you tell someone to update to the latest firmware or bios or version of software, they will always ask what is new? Did they fix anything?
A simple changelog like the one Symbian Freak just posted makes a world of a difference in communicating to users what exactly Nokia worked on and why you should update your device first thing after reading this article.
A few things to note:
- HSDPA indicator added (remember when I posted the screenshot that had 3.5G in the top left corner?)
- AGPS enabled (preview of the technology thanks to Symbian Guru)
- Problems with the WiFi connecting to Netgear routers now fixed
- Better memory handling in the music player application
- “Lots of improvements with maps.”

The changelog is quite extensive, isn’t it?
I agree- much nicer to see what Nokia has worked on. I think Nokia users, for the most part, are perfectly fine admitting that there are faults with their devices- nothing is released without bugs or issues of some kind- we all know that- we want to know what Nokia is doing to fix it!
All the hush-hush on what’s been does to the firmware at every release just doesn’t make sense to me. A changelog like the one found at Symbian-Freak really sells the update and makes me feel good about everything Nokia is working on to further my device’s functionality/stability.
I think updatind process for mobile is such a good thing, especially for nokia mobiles because it is not just a phone, but it is a portable computer. so, like any other computer it needs updating to make it work better and got newest software .
Frankly when a person updates his mobile he feels that his mobile became new and follows the newest technology, and also it makes you feel that you have a computer in your pocket.
Gee nokia really needs to stop exporting their blog comment writing people to india.
I have been trying to Update my firmware V11.0.026 to V12.0.13 But, the Nokia Updater doesn’t have it. i don;t know why. But one of my Friends N95 has got V12.0.013. what must i do?
Depending upon your situation, it might be a semi-involved process- the best thing you can do to learn about your N95 is to take a look at http:///www.n95users.com – there’s a wealth of information there, your issue has been discussed at great length many, MANY times… there’s over 6 thousand N95 users ready and willing to help you with anything you need regarding this sometimes complicated and very advanced device and the S60 environment.
CHeers!
