Vodafone to release Samsung SGH-i620 in UK soon

Earlier in May, we saw the first glimpse of the Samsung SGH-i620, successor of the popular i600 model. Now, we know it is about to hit the UK market, and will carried by Vodafone (NYSE: VOD). The “Big Red” still haven’t announced the release date — at this stage they are gathering names to inform potential buyers when the new Samsung’s Windows Mobile-based smartphone is available to buy online.
As a reminder, just like the Samsung i600, the i620 sports the full QWERTY thumb-keyboard but unlike its predecessor has a slider mechanism for accessing it. This makes the device look kinda strange – it’s shorter yet thicker. Guess they thought you won’t be using the keyboard all the time, so why waste space with it…
