Gameloft announces Real Rugby; Promises realistic rugger simulation

By Dusan Belic on Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 at 8:37 AM PST In Gaming

I do agree with PocketGamer’s Stuart Dredge when he says rugby is a hard sport to turn into a mobile game. Gameloft apparently doesn’t think so, and just recently they’ve announced their new rugby simulation game, called “Real Rugby.” However, I was bit surprised with their expectations. It’s hard to imagine playing rugby on a mobile phone for a long time, yet that haven’t stopped the big mobile games publisher in signing up French Christophe Dominici and English Jonny Wilkinson to promote the game. Guess they really expect this game to succeed…

Real Rugby

Anyway, Gameloft promises a realistic rugger simulation, including scrums, line-outs, a kicking game and proper transformations. First screenshots looks great, and if everything goes as planned (i.e. the game sells well, as planned), we could see the slightly modified American football version following up quickly.
