Classic video game Geometry Wars goes mobile on Verizon Wireless

Geometry WarsEhh, those were the days – when game developers actually had to have an idea not just a sophisticated 3D engine coupled with stupid story. Now, thanks to the partnership between Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless and Sony BMG Music Entertainment, one of the old school games – Geometry Wars – has been revitalized and optimized for mobile game-play. The newly released “Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved Mobile” will certainly evoke some memories among our (roughly speaking) 26+ years old readers. It is developed in conjunction with Bizarre Creations, and is made to be faithful to the console original with the addition of eight new game-play modes – Untouchable, Survivor, Monster, Trenches, Speed, Multiplier, Feline, and Bomber. Plus, as we live in the connected world, players can now see how they stack up against other fans via a leaderboard. It’s a Verizon exclusive and works on the select Get It Now-capable phones.
