While it still waits to be widely adopted on desktop computers, Opera is the single most popular web browser on mobile devices — especially the Opera Mini, which practically rules the feature phone market. But, developer of the popular mobile web browser – Opera Software, doesn’t want to stop there. Just recently, they’ve announced a cooperation agreement with one of China’s leading providers of wireless value-added services and a wireless media company – KongZhong Corporation, to jointly develop the free “KongZhong Opera” browser solution for Chinese mobile phone users. Under the agreement, KongZhong’s site Kong.net will be set as a default home page, and the two companies expect to generate and share advertising, search-related and other revenues.
There you have it – beside ruling the Western hemisphere, Opera is about to tackle the growing Chinese mobile market. Good luck!
