AT&T goes nationwide with Video Share service

AT&T video share

Following AT&T (NYSE: T)’s limited initial launch of their Video Share service, the company has gone national with the one-way video-calling feature. The service is still limited, but only insofar as the video stream is one-way and both parties need to have 3G coverage (as well as 3G-enabled handsets). Both ends can view the video stream, but the data is only pushed in one direction at a time.

Again, we gotta mention that this is a cutting edge tech (at least for the US, we know, it’s sad), so you’re going to have to pony up for the privilege – $9.99 buys you 60 minutes of Video Share-time, $4.99 a month gets you 25 minutes, or you can pay $0.39 per minute.

Finally, that front-facing video camera on our HTC TyTn will finally be put to good use. Now, all we have to do is find someone with a Video Share phone to call. Anyone wanna chat?

Check out AT&T’s website for more details.
