FlickIM – AIM client for your iPhone

The iPhone really, really needs to have a built-in iChat application. It’s a shame that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) didn’t give us the feature out of the box, but we’re betting on a future update to enable the app on our iPhones. Until then, iPhone web-app developers are having a great time trying to cash in on the rush to get bring the best chat client to market. The best clients so far seems to be JiveTalk and Meebo, but the latest entrant into the iPhone chat-game is the FlickIM web-app. It only supports AIM, so JiveTalk has a hand-up on FlickIM, but the interface is so beautifully simple and intuitive that it’s a perfect fit for the iPhone. We’re still waiting on Trillian to release their Astra chat client.
Head on over to http://www.flickim.com/ to check out the new AIM client on your iPhone.

You’re going to need to jailbreak (http://www.intomobile.com/2007/10/29/apple-iphone-v111-jailbreak-is-now-one-clickable-appsnapp-automates-the-jailbreak-process.html) your iPhone first. If you’ve already done that, then you’ll need to install the “Installer.app” (http://www.intoiphone.com/2007/08/27/nullrivers-apptappinstaller-makes-installing-the-iphone-installer-a-breeze-say-what.html) and download either ApolloIM (http://www.intomobile.com/2007/09/24/native-iphone-chat-application-goes-version-10-apollo-im-is-finally-final.html) or MobileChat – unfortunately we’ll all have to wait for Apple to release the SDK (http://www.intomobile.com/2007/10/17/steve-jobs-you-want-an-iphone-sdk-wait-until-february.html) to even get a chance of seeing an official iChat app from Apple.
As far as FlickIM is concerned, just point your iPhone’s Safari browser to :

works great
FlickIM is really good for the iphone……it should come with built in AIM already.
what is jail breaker?
