Amp’d Mobile extends service termination deadline – the dream dies on July 31st

By Will Park on Thursday, July 26th, 2007 at 1:22 AM PST In Announcements, Services

AmpIt looks like Amp’d Mobile has changed their service termination deadline – “Amp’d is potentially suspending US operations on July 31st.” What’s this “potentially” talk about? Could it have something to do with the updated FAQ mentioning “discussions with several parties” regarding a possible buy-out of the defunct MVNO?

The previous shut-off date seems to still be in effect for customer service, so don’t go calling Amp’d expecting a friendly conversation with a CS representative.

We’re still scratching our heads over how Amp’d managed to finagle yet another stay of execution from Verizon (NYSE: VZ), but it’s undoubtedly good news for Amp’d subscribers. So, go out there and port your numbers before its really too late – you still have a few days left!
