Okay, SMS tech and this M500 are notorious for taking people's money and never sending out goods... it is a scam or a hoax...

I have searched online and have found two available models.. I have bought one of them...

Both are made by DigitalRise... The m600i is a Dual band watch (not for USA): http://www.chinagrabber.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1402

The second is the D-Rise D187i which is tri-band and can work with T-mobile, At&T and Cingular... this is the one i got in around 7 days from this site: http://www.chinagrabber.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1404

Hope this helps and make sure you use a secure method of payment if considering the m500... it has been how many months and we've yet to see it materialize?

One of my friends bought this from a china mobile phone company. He found the set nice. He has become fond of handwritten messaging, touchscreen dialing, and stereo Bluetooth music. Truly W100 has overcome many drawbacks of the older models. But somehow I find this just too clunky. They must work on its appearance…

To Mr. Andrew Lo, Vice Preisdent of CECT, maker of W100

Dear Mr. Lo,

I am impressed with your W100 and have been watching and waiting for years for someone to produce this device. I am seriously considering buying a black W100. I understand there are knock-offs/copies/counterfeit versions out there such as one called the M700. Could you please answer a few questions for me to make me feel a little more secure about making my purchase?

1. How can I tell if a unit is an authentic CECT unit?

2. Can you tell me who your authorized dealers of the USA version (850 &/or 1900 MHz) are?

3. Are black units available for the USA (850 &/or 1900 MHz)?

4. Are there any plans to make a 3G/UMTS version? If so, by what date?

5. The camera is touted as being 1.3 Megapixels but the manual says maximum picture size is 640x480. That resolution comes out to be only 0.3 Megapixels so how can the claim be made that its resolution is 1.3 Megapixels?

7. Are there any plans to improve the camera components/resolution? If so, by what date?

8. Are the ones labeled “Hyundai” yours and if so, what is the connection?

Thanks very much for answering all my questions.

Anything that has to do with SMS Tech selling the mobile watch M300, M500 or anything else in the future is false as they charge your crdit card and never deliver on the goods. This company is stealing from everyone and you should know they'll do the same with you.

This was originally created for the M500 (never mind the header)... but is open to all cellWatch discussions.

This is not an iPhone Post... but you can go to http://www.m500.org to advise us of the progress of your M500 order or simply discuss it. :) OR, better yet, if you've received it or one of the other watch phones, provide photos and info about it! :)

However, does W100 support web browsing? I knew that SMS M500 cannot web browse.

Why is W100 bulkier than M500, product of SMS Technology, view photos at http://www.cypher-sec.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16?

Why does W100 only support duo band, but not quad band (850, 900, 1800 and 1900mHz)?

I hope that CECT will make it more flexible and more international friendly (making it quad band) by this year at least.

OK everyone... http://www.m500.org is up and running with a forum that is not closed (cough cough mymobilewatch). ;) It should help you keep up to date with this awesome product!

This was created for the M500, but is open to all watch phones.

Please run through things, sign up for the BB, and let me know how things feel work. I've run many a server in the past and still do, but, strangely enough, I've never run a forum. So, this should be fun. :) Feel free to start things off by adding what we've discussed if you so choose.

If you feel there should be a category in the forum, let me know. There is a contact page that goes to me on the site. :)

Ciao,
~TC

hi, Andrew Lo.

I have been posting so much attention on W100 CECT. Through china friends, chinese search engines, reviews, but there may seem to be no real release of W100 CECT in china market. I hope Qiao Xing will be delivering its first W100 into the market as soon as possible because the product has overdue, isn't it?

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your commend on our phone! One thing I would like to carrified is we do have touch screen panel on this phone. So you can write your sms and dial the phone no on the panel.

This is Andrew Lo the Vice Preisdent of CECT. Thanks for your interest on our newest model W100. This’s will be in the market (China) 2007 Sept. The phone that you see is not from 007, which is by CECT. The retail price of this phone will be RMB2980 (USD392), which is included 2sets of battery and a surround sounds bluetooth headset.

Thanks alot!
