Forget about the iPhone, Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95, Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) W960… forget them all. This is the real deal! The oddly-named 5005x X-ray phone from Japan claims to see through layers of clothing, and even allows you to adjust the x-ray levels. Wow!

Before you ask “where can I buy one”, I must add that it’s only a concept, or a scam, or yet another unfulfilled dream. Return to your device of choice, I’m going to jump now! :)

iPling – first iPhone-only location-based social networking service

By Dusan Belic on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 4:07 AM PST
In Apple, LBS, Services, iPhone

iPlingIt didn’t took much time for the first iPhone-dedicate social networking site to launch. Basically, iPling adds a “location twist” in the mobile social networking and targets iPhone users only. The new service is designed to allow iPhone users to discover and communicate with people who share similar interests (i.e. love Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)). Registering is free, and as far as I see, you could try it out to exchange your initial iPhone experience with the similarly-minded people. Otherwise, you could wait for the iPhone optimized versions of MySpace, Facebook and other social networking sites that you currently use.

Full release after the break.

World Poker Tour cellphones by Sony Ericsson

World Poker Pour cellphonesHere’s something for all you guys and gals who like to gamble and at the same live outside the U.S. — as online (and I guess mobile) gambling is prohibited in the States. PhoneHouse France has been selling limited edition Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) K750i handsets branded by World Poker Tour logo – K750i WPT. The phone comes with the “Texas Hold ‘Em 2″ game preloaded and enables users to play against each other, but not for money — now when I’m thinking, this kind of phone IS probably legal in the States as well, as it doesn’t involve any exchange of money. Anyway, it seemed like an interesting bundle, yet it’s off the site now.

Users report iPhone activation problems; AT&T promises to fix them!

By Dusan Belic on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 2:36 AM PST
In AT&T, Apple, Devices, iPhone, iPhone OS

iPhone activationHope you’re not one of the iPhone owners that reported an activation problem. Apparently, many people have complained of having a problem activating their brand new iPhones. According to AT&T (NYSE: T), their servers just couldn’t handle the volume of activation requests. Talk about being ready…

Anyway, people are angry and now AT&T is there to suck up, as (not) surprisingly, no one seems to blame Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) for this. I find both parties partially guilty — at least Apple should be responsible for selecting AT&T over other carriers (not that I have anything against AT&T).

Anyway, the carrier’s spokesman Michael Coe said that they are working to solve the problem on an individual basis with customers who were impacted. Hopefully, this will be resolved quickly and you’ll be using your beloved iPhone as you always wanted. :)

iPhone can play Google Video clips as well!

By Dusan Belic on Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 2:19 AM PST
In Apple, Content, Services, iPhone

So, it’s not just the YouTube! In case you haven’t realized, your brand new iPhone can also play clips from Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Video. Makes sense — both G! Video and YouTube come from the same company, with the iPhone coming preloaded with the YouTube support only.

iPhone playing Google Video

Anyway, all you have to do is use Safari to browse around Google Video, find a clip you like, download it as “Video iPod/Sony PSP” file, and voila… you can enjoy it on your 3.5″ screen while on the go. But, be aware only a part of the Google Video library is available for download. Then again, that’s also the case with YouTube…
