Even more of a reason to hate locked devices: some guy took an iPhone to the UK for 2 weeks, roaming of course, rang up a $3,000 phone bill and shit his pants. Who is to blame here? The guy for not knowing about roaming? The operators for not providing lube at the signing of your contract? How about Apple for making it impossible to pop in a SIM card from another telco?
Pick your battles. Good news is AT&T let him off the hook, but it took a blog post on BoingBoing to do it. Sigh.
