Battle for Japanese mobile consumer is tougher than ever. It seems heavily subsidizing of the latest high-end handset is just not enough for the Japanese consumer — they want more!

NTT DoCoMoNow we have the leading carrier in the Land of the rising Sun offering an immediate 50% discount on basic monthly charges for all subscribers that commit to the two-year contract. The two new plans — “Fami-wari MAX 50″ and “Hitoridemo Discount 50″ — build upon previously released “Fami-wari MAX” and “Hitoridemo Discount” plans, which offered the same discount under somewhat more difficult conditions.

If you live in Japan and are interested to gain from the latest DoCoMo’s offering you can already sign-up, although discounts start on August 22. But be aware, if you want to get out of the new plan you will be charged a penalty of 9,975 yen, which is roughly 85 bucks.
