Oh the irony of this story; to make your iPhone be cool like all the other smartphones out there that support streaming content you need to be using Windows. A little program sits on your desktop called Orb which is basically a pretty interface for creating what I assume is a SMB share with dynamic IP address support accessible via a browser. Kevin Tofel is on a roll, first he brings us news of the Nokia N81 viral ad and now this detailed and informative howto!

Or wait wait a few weeks and try our software, works on both mac and windows. for the iphone.
Better than orb, you decide.
At least all the streaming stays at your end, throw a sniffer between your pc and orb you might see something interesting.

I found WeBot’s application to be quite handy when streaming photos and music to my iPhone. It was great having access to my entire music collection when back east at my folks a couple weeks ago. Also, being able to share a year and a half of kid pics with mom was a hoot.
