Motorola and Verizon’s answer to the iPhone is KRZR K1m?

Actually, it’s not – yet this fan-made video uses the audio from Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s ads to mock the iPhone. Three things you can’t do on your iPhone – downloading ringtones, instant messaging (actually it’s possible via Safari) and removing your battery. Plus, it’s all available for $99… MOTO KRZR K1m on Verizon (NYSE: VZ)… Sounds compelling? I don’t think so, although it’s a short and funny clip. And in addition it’s good to finally see Motorola (NYSE: MOT)’s fans reacting to the iPhone hype…

As a huge Apple fan (typing this on his MacBook), I was pretty torn while making this video. It mostly came from sour grapes about the iPhone not being available for Verizon, where I’m currently contract-imprisoned.

But I agree that the arguments in the video aren’t very “compelling.” As you said, iChat can be accomplished with a web app, and custom ringtones has already been hacked. In all honesty, if the iPhone were available for Verizon, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
